Emily is a USPAP-compliant appraiser of fine and decorative artworks, with particular interest and expertise in appraising 20th century American studio ceramics and contemporary art jewelry. She specializes in appraisals for non-cash charitable contributions to a qualified institution, insurance scheduling, and equitable distribution.
She is passionate about all forms of artistic endeavor but am especially interested in conceptual art that collapses the barriers between fine art and craft.
She earned my BA in Art History at Vassar College and obtained a JD, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center. After stints working for the Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill and at a prestigious Washington DC law firm, she returned to her first and greatest passion: art. She relies on her legal reasoning and writing skills to execute appraisals that are clearly written, objective, and accurate.
